Summer time is here! And one of the cutest hairstyles that always makes an impression, is Summer Wave Hair. I was finally able to easily pull it off, using this awesome 3 barrel curling iron, by Alure!

Can you get those summer waves with super fine hair?
My hair is weird. It’s super fine, and thin-but there’s a lot of it. Body is what it really lacks, and because of the humidity of the South, it doesn’t hold a curl for long. So I try about once a year to get the perfect Summer Wave Hair. And about an hour with a curling iron, and an entire can of extra hold hair spray later, it’s falling flat.
Alure 3 Barrel Curling Iron
Does this work with my fine hair?
You can see my results in the video below-I didn’t try to make it really pretty, because at first, I honestly didn’t think this would be very different. I figured my hair would just fall flat again, from lack of heat power (which seems to be a factor) and the humidity. But, the Alure 3 Barrel curling iron actually did an amazing job!
Not needing to wind a wand to get a desired curl really makes a difference! It definitely takes time getting used to, technically “crimping” the hair, and I’m not very ambidextrous. So for me, it was kinda difficult to get every section I needed, but I’m also not incredibly experienced with styling tools. My hair is probably more difficult in holding a curl, because when regular styling wands, it doesn’t get enough heat exposure. That being said, I did feel like being able to “crimp” instead of wind my hair really helped, because I was able to get the entire length of the strands exposed to the heat. But i will say that if you aren’t a “pro” at these kinds of tools, you may want help in getting to the back part of your hair to get the perfect Summer Waves look!
How I got my Summer Wave Hair
Ok, so I admit, I didn’t try to look picture perfect so these shots, because i was so surprised that I even got my hair to curl! But if you have super fine, finicky hair, here’s what I did to make it work…
- Section off locks of hair for the desired thickness of the curls you want. I randomly pick mine as i go, but you should probably use 1/4 inch sections of hair
- Have your Alure 3 Barrell iron ready, and start at the top of your lock, near the scalp, and work your way down.
- Hold the hair within curling iron for 10-15 seconds, carefully open the wand, and move to the next section of un-heated hair, until the hair lock is complete
- Use a cold shot from a hair dryer (I have the perfect one here!) with your hair spray of choice, to set your style!
I have similar hair, and I have been searching for an effective product!
