There’s nothing wrong with wanting to make a few cosmetic changes.

Whether it’s Lipo, or breast augmentation, there’s a few things you must prepare for first.

Think about your decision

Are you wanting cosmetic plastic surgery for yourself, or someone else?

Remember, not every procedure can be reversed. You should never do something to make someone else happy.

If it’s important to you, and how you will ultimately feel about yourself, then go for it. But remember, changing your appearance for other people isn’t the way to happiness. Or, self confidence.

If you just want to improve your appearance for your own well being, then cosmetic plastic surgery can be a great option.

Along with your own feelings about the procedures, you need to research the surgery itself.

Is this inpatient, or outpatient? What are the recovery periods like?

You’ll need to prepare for what life will be like, post-surgery. Will you need help getting around the house? Can you drive yourself home from the doctor’s office, or hospital?

Whether you need to take time off from work, or just a few hours to recover, is important too.

Deciding when to have your cosmetic procedure done, and giving yourself time to heal, is extremely important for true success.

Find a reputable doctor

Next, you need to find a qualified doctor for your exact cosmetic procedure.

This means finding a professional with the proper licensing. It’s too risky to see back-alley, non licensed people for a lower price. We are talking about your body here!

Googling things like “best plastic surgeon Tampa” (or whichever your location is) will give you a list of legitimate results within your area.

Most professionals in the cosmetic plastic surgery business, have websites. You can also read reviews on their work, and even see photos of procedures they have done.

Make sure your doctor will also be within a reasonable distance for you to travel to. This can be difficult per the type of surgery you want. But, this can be very important when your recovery time is factored in.

Be open with your doctor

It’s very risky to your health, and your recovery, when you aren’t honest with your Doctor.

You need to disclose the reasons why you want even cosmetic plastic surgery done. Any medications, or health issues, need to be brought p during your consultation as well.

it might seem like a minor point, but given the type of procedure you want, and the recovery involved, this can be a major issue. The last thing you want is to be prescribed any kind of recovery aid that can interfere with current medications.

Your doctor may also have valid reasons to discourage you from the type of cosmetic procedure you are seeking as well. This is only to your benefit, making it all the more important to be open and honest.

Follow Doctor’s orders!

In preparation for your surgery, you need to follow all the doctor’s orders!

Some cosmetic plastic surgery procedures are more complex than others. But, whichever professional you decide to go with, will detail exactly what you should (or shouldn’t) do prior to surgery.

Sticking to pre and post-op orders, will ensure success and health in both your surgical/recovery period.
