ESAs for Stress Reduction

An amazing natural de-stresser that is also super cute and furry? Why, an emotional support animal of course!

The newest trend as part of therapy plans, ESAs are an excellent way to  lower your stress levels. Just having a pet around can help you to lower your stress levels and therefore be more productive, by boosting dopamine levels in the brain.

This change in brain chemistry puts you into a relaxed, zen-like state, perfect for getting into the zone for your blogging.

Exercise

Yes, we know, duh. Everyone is aware of exercise’s amazing benefits for our bodies and minds, but be honest. Do you actually do it?

When you’re stressed out and burnt out, it’s easy to let commitment to exercise slide, and honestly it may be the last thing you feel like doing.

But it’s really, really, important. And once you start, you’ll enjoy it. Keep in mind you can tailor exercise to your own personal needs and tastes – you don’t have to do a full on high intensity cardio workout at the gym every single time.

Tailoring your workout to suit what you feel like doing and what you have time to do will make the whole experience much more enjoyable.

Try going for a hike outside, taking a leisurely swim at your local outdoor pool, or playing some team sports that you enjoy with friends.

Running as physical activity

Even Better…Exercise with your ESA

Before, we talked about exercise and how great it is. Know what makes it even greater? Your pet!

This is especially true if you have a dog. By being obligated to take your doggo out to the park, you’re essentially forced to get into the fresh air and move your body, and have some fun while you’re at it, too.

Dogs love Frisbees, fetch and hanging out with other dogs, and as a blogging furparent this is exactly the kind of distraction and incidental exercise you need to rejuvenate your mind and get some fresh inspiration.

Taking Breaks

So many bloggers, writers and people that work from home forget this important part of self-care.

Without breaks, your mind does not have time to recuperate and refresh itself, leading to a drop in productivity and the quality of your work.

One excellent advantage of having an ESA at home is that you must take breaks so that you can care for your pet. Whether it’s feeding, patting, brushing, walking or more patting, your pet requires that you take breaks to keep them happy and healthy.

This has the positive incidental effect of ensuring that you actually take those breaks that you keep saying you’re going to take…but then never do.

Interact with Animals to Regulate Emotions

Another wonderful way in which an ESA can help you get in the right head space to write your next killer piece is the almost supernatural way in which they can regulate your emotions.

Feeling angry? Pat your poodle. Feeling frustrated? Cuddle your Maine Coone cat.

The steady, stable emotional presence that an animal can bring to your life can act as an equalizer to the daily stresses and pressures of life. A happier blogger means a more productive and creative blogger. Isn’t that what we all want in the end?

Using an ESA to up your skills as a blogger is an excellent way to write more content, that’s naturally of higher quality. Let an emotional support animal help you to achieve your potential, by patting your way to better blogging (here is how to get a emotional support animal certification).
