Fit meets Glam!

The theme for this past month’s Glam Bag was Fitness. And the cute mesh makeup bag included with every Ipsy shipment is perfect for your workout gear! The colors really made up for the drab weather we’ve been having. But enough on the bag, let’s look at the products I got this January!

Dry Shampoo

Ipsy must have known I was really needing some dry shampoo. I’ve never gotten around to using any before, but this is such a necessity for a busy Mom. The Oribe Gold Lust Dry Shampoo has a powerful spray! Run my fingers through my hair and work in the solution, and done! My hair certainly felt fresher and cleaner! This is great for those days of skipped shampooing, or if you’re working out. taking a bottle with you to outdoor activities isn’t a bad idea, either.

Dermelect Microfacial Exfoliating Masque

Ipsy knows I care about my skin, so i was excited to get a new microfacial exfoliating masque to try. This one my Dermelect contains kaolin and coconut oil. The only downside, is having to wait 10-12 minutes before washing off. But, it does a great job exfoliating my skin, and I’d recommend this if you have oily/combination skin. The travel size makes it easy to keep in a gym bag, or even an overnight makeup train.

Contouring is still something I’m working on (when I have time). The City Color Contour palate actually arrived broken (which was seen when I did a live unboxing on my Facebook!) but Ipsy did replace it quickly! It’s a great palate itself, but I think it’s a tad too dark for my complexion. So, I’ve been using just a little of the darker tones than I normally would.

Nude Lips

I was super excited to get one of my favorite brands this month! NYX Lip Lingerie in Satin Ribbon glides on like butter – but the only downside to this shade? Not good for me. It made my entire face look washed out, because it’s just too close to my actual skin tone. But, I often have that problem with neutral tones, so this is literally my problem, not NYX. I still love it, and may add some highlighter to create a better effect.

Dirty Little Secret

The best piece in this past month’s Ipsy Glam Bag was the eye shadow! Dirty Little Secret’s Sangria is super pigmented! My eyes popped with red all day, and it doesn’t flake off! sadly, this hue isn’t on Amazon (currently) and is back-ordered on the DLS web site, but I also have their bronze Color, which is equally amazing!

Another 4 out of 5 on this Glam bag. But none by fault of the products themselves!
