December Ipsy Glam Bag Review

Ipsy Glam Bag Review for December 2017

So this Mom decided to jump on the Ipsy train for a while – and the December 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag didn’t disappoint!

Giving Ipsy a try…

So I kept seeing all these videos and reviews for a Ipsy Glam Bag, and thought “what is that?”  I’m a Mom who loves subscription boxes, so I was excited for this one! Ipsy sends you 5 products each month, tailored to your beauty and cosmetic preferences. Some of the items are sample sizes (but a generous amount, so far), while some are full size. $10 a month? I’ll bite – still cheaper than buying all these products outright!

So, without further ado, let’s go over what I received in my Ipsy Glam Bag this past month!December ipsy Glam bag with Smashbox, Pixi by Petra

December Glam Bag

Not everyone get’s the same exact products, so my Glam Bag featured…

  • Smashbox Always On Gel Liner in Fishnet
  • Fab First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser
  • Essence I Love Extreme Crazy Volume Mascara
  • Ofra Liquid Lipstick in Ipsy Unzipped
  • Pixi by Petra Mesmerizing Mineral Duo in Orchid Ornament

Smashbox Always On Gel Liner

I was really excited to try this, because this Mama loves her eyeliner. This gel liner glides on super easy and is totally waterproof. And yes, it’s super long lasting! Only one drawback – the point is extremely fine, and after a few wears, the pencil needs sharpening.

However, a lot of reviews online claim that it actually sharpens horribly, and if you can get another point back, it’s not the same as it were brand new. So I haven’t totally worn down the point yet, but I’ll be looking for a very small sharpener before wearing again. But I am def getting more! This didn’t clump, and drew perfect lines!

Fab First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser

My December Ipsy Glam Bag came with face cleanser, with only makes sense because I have all this new makeup to try.  The Fab First Aid beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser is allergy tested, and fragrance free. It’s very no frills, and works well, but I honestly wasn’t wowed by it. Don’t get me wrong, it works great! But it didn’t really stand out from other brands I’ve tried. Or, maybe I’m just picky. You can find this cleanser within this set below!

Essence I Love Extreme Crazy Volume Mascara

Somone knew my Ipsy Glam Bag needed some mascara, because I was almost out! I hadn’t heard of this brand, but was surprised by how well it works. By crazy volume, they mean crazy! It clumps a little, but nothing a few wands can’t fix. Def worth a try! And super affordable!

Ofra Long lasting Liquid Lipstick in Ipsy Unzipped

As a Mom, I need my makeup to last. If it can survive coffee, toddler tantrums, and hours of wear, it’s a keeper.  My shade is exclusive for Ipsy members – but Ofra Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick works! It’s not tacky, dries easily, doesn’t chap, and really does wear all day (and all night). Perfect for the busy Mom with no time to reapply. I picked out a few of their other similar shades below!

Pixi by Petra Mesmerizing Mineral Duo in Orchid Ornament

The duo I received appears to be Ipsy only (whomp, whomp) but I love these shades! They’re super pigmented, and can be worn wet or dry. Paired with the liquid lipstick, this was a really cute purple/neutral tone for my light skin. These mineral shadows are super shimmery, and slide on easy. You can find the most similar of these colors, in the eye set below.

Conclusion?

Final verdict for my December 2017 Ipsy Glam Bag? 4 outta 5…

I love pretty much everything but the face cleanser – because it just didn’t amaze me. But, I’m a little biased on my skincare. Otherwise, this was a good subscription box win, and I can’t wait to see what I get in January!
