I was recently nominated for this challenge at the perfect time in my busy life. When things become stressful and hectic, it’s important to focus on the joys of life.

I’m so grateful to Susan at Glorious Mom Blog for nominating me for this challenge – because it really made me stop and think of all the things I’m grateful for right now. But not only grateful – happy. And finding happiness is essential when Life starts getting tough. It’s too easy to let the stressful situations bring you down. So, without further ado, here’s 10 Things That Make Me Happy…
They can be annoying at times, but my family really does make me happy. Even when my husband is leaving balled up socks under the couch. or my son is figuring out how to remove the rubber gasket from his sippy cup (and spilling it every time). These two guys are the only ones who can always make me feel better, even if they are (sometimes) the source of aggravation. I have so much love for my husband and son, that I’ll forgo everything else just to be with them.
He’s pretty deserving of his own paragraph, because my husband is simply the best. If I’m in a bad mood, he can fix it. I don’t have anxieties or worries anymore. I do have his support, in a variety of ways( not just financially). My husband gets me. And unlike a lot of women I know, I don’t really find myself complaining about him all the time. He makes me happy, and always has.
Dawson’s Creek Reruns
Yes, it’s silly, but Dawson’s Creek is making me so happy right now. I never watched the show as a teen. So now, it’s been a great de-stress tool at the end of a long day. The nostalgia of the 90’s, mixed in with a show I haven’t watched to death, is just awesome. Now no one ruin it for me, or I will find you, Liam Neeson style….
I’m a sucker for leopard print anything – it’s weird, but it’s me. And I get a lot of compliments when I wear it. So Capri leggings, Car Seat Covers , Purses, whatever. Leopard print makes me happy. You can imagine my delight when my nail technician decided to do leopard as a design on my man/pedi the other week…speaking of which…
I probably go once a month to get my nails done. Kid goes to spend the day at Grandma’s, and I can get some self-care time. I don’t indulge on much for myself, but I will go do that. It’s also a creative time, although I usually just pick a color and let my nail technician do whatever she wants as far as a design. That allows her creative side to come out, which makes me happy.
If you know me, then you know what my favorite kind of chocolate is. Even just a small piece is a big pick me up, and I’m instantly happy.
I’m a firm believer that music will affect mood. So when I need to feel happy, I always have my playlist on. Old stuff, new stuff, maybe even just fall down the YouTube rabbit hole and see where I end up.
Play is not only important for learning, but it strengthens the bond between parent and child. Even though I don’t always have the time, I make the time to play. Because it always helps my mood, and it makes me happy to see my son is so happy.
it can be time consuming, frustrating, and even chaotic. But being a blogger has been one of the greatest things I’ve ever started. Not only do I have a creative way of expression – but I have something that I really enjoy doing, even if I don’t think what I’ve written is up to my personal standard. I’m having fun and being happy – and that’s what counts.
Weird Potato Chips
I’m an admitted dork – I get excited over the silliest things, like new flavors of potato chips. And I’ll try any of them. Southern Biscuits & Gravy? Buffalo? Lime? I’ll take a whack at anything in potato chip form.
I now nominate Luz at Adventures With Nico to list off 10 Things That make her Happy, and I ask YOU to sound off in the comments below – what makes you happy?
