Benefits of Charcoal

Charcoal has amazing benefits for many things, but one might not think that skincare can be one of them. Charcoal itself can reduce the size of pores, help balance oil, and give your face a good deep cleaning. If you have mild acne problems, it’s best to use products with activated charcoal, to really clean out your pores and shrink them (without breaking out your skin and making it worse).

The Charcoal Detox Deep Pore Gel Cleanser does just that! It won’t dry out your face, but will wash away residues without stripping your natural moisturizers. It doesn’t have a very harsh scent, and leaves a light, tingly fresh feeling afterwards.

Ingredients

Contains activated charcoal (duh), aloe vera (ooh!), and a ton of other vitamins and extracts that are good for your skin-like lemon, tea tree, sugar maple and chamomile. The Charcoal Detox Deep Pore Gel Cleanser is free of all synthetic fragrances, dyes, parabens and sulfates, so you know it’s healthier than a lot of others like it. Michael Todd also doesn’t test on animals, so rest assured you are investing in an ethical beauty product!

Review

I like the lather, although it takes a minute to wash all of it off. To me, that means it’s really getting in there and working! It really leaves no kind of residue behind, and my face felt softer when using it. I would definitely keep a bottle of this on the shelf, because I like how it works with my horrible combo skin!
